Alex Campbell, the founder of Camp Campbell and a dedicated basketball coach, has made significant strides both on and off the court. With a distinguished playing career spanning over a decade and a successful coaching career, Alex’s journey in basketball is a testament to his passion and expertise in the sport.

Playing Career: Alex’s professional basketball career is distinguished by his leadership and impactful performances. He has showcased his skills internationally in Spain, Finland, France, China and Taiwan, and has been a prominent figure in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). Notably, Alex served as captain for both the Vancouver Bandits and the Saskatchewan Rattlers. With the Bandits, he earned accolades as the team’s offensive player of the year and MVP. His leadership was instrumental in guiding the Rattlers to the inaugural CEBL Championship, where he was also named CEBL Championship Weekend MVP. Alex is the all-time leader Canadians in both points scored and three-pointers made in CEBL history.

Coaching Career: Transitioning seamlessly from player to coach, Alex now serves as the lead assistant coach for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies men’s basketball team. His coaching career has been highlighted by guiding the Huskies to a playoff berth at the Canada West Championships in February 2024. Alex’s leadership and strategic insights have played a crucial role in the team’s development and success.

Camp Campbell: Beyond the court, Alex founded Camp Campbell, a community-driven initiative aimed at young athletes, kids, and parents. Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020), Camp Campbell was born out of a desire to support and uplift the community during challenging times. Through this program, Alex uses basketball as a platform to inspire and educate, drawing from his own life experiences to motivate young athletes and impart valuable life skills. Camp Campbell reflects his unwavering commitment to giving back to the community and fostering the next generation of basketball talent.
